Problems and Bugs in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha First Thoughts

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha released yesterday, and players around the world have been getting first-hand experience with the game. Given that it is in its early stages, the game isn’t perfect, and bugs and issues are to be expected. I will explain some of the issues that I have experienced during the time I played the Alpha and give my thoughts on the overall impression that the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gave.

Problems and Bugs in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha

To start, the game had no issues running, I had no connection issues or game crashes or anything of the sort. I had no trouble finding a game whatsoever. The gameplay was smooth and after a match, the game automatically finds you another lobby with brand new opponents, so you don’t have to keep joining matches after each one ends. This is a great feature, and one that I hope finds its way into the full version of the game.

The maps on Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha are tight, close quarters combat arenas and make for a fast paced game. Granted, this is just for the 2v2 Alpha release, but it still was loads of fun and kept me entertained for hours on end. Infinity Ward released 5 maps for the Alpha, including Speedball, King, Pine, Docks, and Stack. If these maps are just a sample of what to expect in the full game, I am very pleased with the feel of the maps. The maneuverability of the spaces is excellent, there is plenty of cover and the flow of movement is fluid and extremely easy to navigate. There are plenty of head glitching spots which is not my favorite thing, but every player is different, and a good player can definitely exploit spots like these.

The weapons in the Alpha are randomly picked, which is great because you get to try out a variety of weapons within a short amount of time, without having to rank up and unlock as you go. The weapon that stuck out most to me was the M13. This gun was deadly and had little to no recoil at all. It seemed effective at both close range and mid-range as well. Unfortunately, there are no killstreaks in the Alpha, but I’m sure we will get a better look at those when the Beta comes out in September.

Overall, the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha is a great introduction to the new game and gives the community a way of getting some time behind the controller. The gameplay is fantastic, and Call of Duty enthusiasts around the world will be happy with the early rendition of the game. There is still plenty of stuff we have yet to see, including the rumored Battle Royale game mode with a map said to be 3 times the size of Fortnite and Blackout from Black Ops 4. In the meantime, get out there and try the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha and see for yourself what the hype is about.
